#Toronto An eighth warming centre opened last night at John Innes CC.

349 ppl were in these sites compared to 312 the night before. Proof it was needed. They were still over capacity at 101%. More effort is needed.

Look up the definition. Surely fears are real and justified.

‼️Toronto reports 321 ppl in the 7 warming sites last night, Jan 25. That is 106.6% capacity. While the policy directive is to not turn anyone away, you can imagine how difficult the conditions are.

Relief in the form of an additional site is needed.

January 24 I wrote #Toronto City Council. The current effort of cramming #homeless people into existing overcrowded #shelters, in some cases only offering a chair for overnight would not be considered acceptable in a refugee camp.
