Last week, I had the chance to meet with LGBTQ+ advocates in Champaign. I’ll continue to fight for safety, dignity, and equity of the LGBTQ+ community in the Halls of Congress and I’m committed to regularly convening meetings like this one to listen and learn from folks’ lived experiences.

Some of the same members of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) criticizing their party for focusing too much on “identity” seem focused on backing a White man to be the next DNC chair.

That is troubling. Representation OF THE PEOPLE is what matters. Moving whiter and more central is just moving closer to the fascism, racism, homophobia, and misogyny that just won the White House. We, as Democrats, cannot allow that! What do we do to have our voices heard by the party?

My desire to stay engaged and resist is at war with my disgust of having to pay attention to each and every stupid thing that the orange menace does. 🤕

We need to get Dems to get judges onto benches at lightening speed now. Then we need to be prepared to disrupt appointments that will hurt our country. We cannot hand our freedoms, our healthcare, and our environment over to people who want to destroy them and deny Science.

Yes! I cannot wait to work with you all to protect the rights of those I love.
