Sometimes I play with the idea of starting a company which makes really nice electronics that feels as little โ€œtechโ€ as possible. Ie where the user only have to interface with โ€œtechโ€ when absolutely necessary.

Has anyone come up with a negative meme name for the โ€œbig beautiful billโ€ that has caught on? I havenโ€™t heard one.

Seems like basic gamesmanship failure.

The photon debugging view is working pretty well now. I can navigate the scene to look at the paths, bounces and final photon positions - along with a preview of their impact on the scene.

A great time capsule of the "future of programming" space from one decade ago. Lots of familiar usernames, lots of projects that are still running to this day. Also fun to think about all the things that happened shortly after this thread.

I found a cool pattern to evolve but it's weird on my eyes. It's not rapid flashing, but leaves an after-image. Not sure if it's the stripes or the faint jiggling or something else.

Equilibrium effects of LLM reviewing Equilibrium effects of LLM reviewing

Should LLMs be used to review papers? AAAI is piloting LLM-generated reviews this year. I wrote a blog post arguing that using LLMs as reviewers can have bad downstream consequences for science by centralizing judgments about what constitutes good research.

No, no constraints on prose. Even the distinction between code and prose is an invisible bit.

The caps are a stylistic thing influenced by reading Christopher Alexander.
