A lot of these guys correctly understand that the US did indeed win most of the battles in Vietnam, but forget that if winning battles does not win wars maybe the importance on lethality is misguided.

American advice literally boiling down to "here's how you increase lethality, but no advice on how to actually win" is kind of a microcosm on why the GWOT was lost.
