Mine had “Show” or later”Hide” on the right to toggle between but yours doesn’t have that. I doubt it’s naughty enough to deserve being banned

It’s marked as adult content as are some of my figure drawings. I can click the label and see my drawings but that doesn’t seem to work with other people’s drawings. Any ideas on how I can see this?

Art question: If a study from a figure drawing session is labeled “sexually suggestive” even though it’s only part of a woman standing by a chair, is the label made by AI or did someone request that it be labeled or make that suggestion? #ArtEthics

Hard to get details with oil pastel when working that small.

I like to give the models a sketch m, because who wouldn’t want more than money to take home when you’re on a roomful of artists using you as inspiration. I also realized that I need to be more careful of where the holes are with this postcard-sized paper. #figuredrawing #oilpastel #art

Why do mosquitoes not die in the heat? I know my neighbour raises and nurtures them in a vat of standing water, but… why doesn’t that vat of water dry up like it does everywhere else? My front yard is not that close, but the mosquitoes are horrendous! #mosquitomysteries

At least this time the woman asked me directly. The previous one used to ask the “instructor “ instead of me even though I was usually right there. It’s not magic, people!

They are always disappointed to learn that I use whatever paper I get (sometimes cheap newsprint but today a cheap sketchbook from Nepal or India) and lately cheap oil pastels that kindergarten kids in Japan use instead of crayons.

Had to deal with yet another person getting handsy with my sketchbook and materials in the figure drawing group today. It’s not the first time and probably won’t be the last. 😞 Some people seem to think I use some special or expensive materials to draw with. #art

I enjoy taking wisteria photos in B&W so I can see all the lines. Colour photos rarely capture the true colours. #Wisteria

Today is the last day of the show at 105magallery! This means that we’re open from 1:00 to 4:00 today, so I have time to take down the artwork. Remember the gallery is on a side street beside a gym and near the hot dog stand. 😉 All #art is of course available for purchase so you can love it at home

My idea was not a success, & much later I added the colour it needed. The atmosphere in it reminded me of John Everett Millais’s painting of Ophelia, so the title is a tribute. At 105magallery until April 26. #art

“Waiting for Ophelia” is not a large drawing. If you look closely, you can see black circles. It started as a drawing for a show with a theme of looking through the door during the pandemic, & I had the idea of an enlarged screen door.

These are all major achievements for a show in a small gallery in an industrial city!

- Two people from the municipal art museum were surprised (just like everyone else) that most of art is coloured pencil and they walked around, making sounds that suggest they were pleased with what they saw.
- People are sending their friends to see the show.

- Local business staff and owners have also strolled in. Some regularly check out the exhibitions I think; others said they don’t usually enter the gallery because the work is often dark but the bright colours of my drawings made them want to get a closer look.

Not all successes are financial ones.
- Two days in a row groups of teenage boys have voluntarily entered the gallery, enjoyed my artwork, & interacted with the artist.
- Teenage girls have also strolled in after being attracted to the colours.

SOLD! Purple and Green Moss has found a new home! I am very thankful that a new collector enjoys this drawing but I am also sad to see it leave. It honestly is one of my favourites

She passed that energy on to a girl who insistently dragged her family with her. She reacted instinctively & made sounds when looking at the largest drawing. Interesting to see people’s reactions especially when they say they nothing about art. That might be true but they know what they like

A woman and her husband walked by on their way to the mall. He hurried on by but she started heading directly towards the pretty colours in the gallery. She couldn’t help herself! But she pulled away from the art’s tractor beam and rushed to catch up to her husband. Maybe she will be back? #art
