Exactlyyyy. Before watching this episode, I would have thought the doctor would have taken down the entire genocidal corporation. He took down Harriet Jones with six words for killing an entire group of people. Why is the contest still deemed to be a good thing in the end?

It felt like a writer who thought they were doing something good by portraying the genocided people as victims (congrats I guess?), but they handled it in a very centrist way. There were absolutely no repercussions for the corporation or contest which banned them and took money from the corporation.

Why wasn’t the entire corporation deemed the villain of the story! The song contest was still portrayed as a good thing despite taking money from the corporation instead of there being consequences for the corporation.

I definitely feel that. Suddenly everyone listens to the genocided species once they speak out at the contest that had banned them, and all the bigoted people at the contest suddenly love them. When those speaking out for Palestine in real life are deemed terrorist sympathizers. Felt a bit tone deaf

I appreciate that the genocided species were portrayed as victims, but we’re told that the contest that had previously banned them suddenly stopped being bigoted once she sang a song. When Palestinians in real life are deemed terrorist supporters for simply speaking out like she did. Tone deaf yeah.

I’d love you to make a video discussing this topic (or a topic involving this video). Never seen Hank green talk about politics that much, but I was excited to see him stand up for Palestine… only to see them trash BDS, center the friend’s feelings, and see Hank make encampments sound scary.
