When Willie is gone, so is the excuse for Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver.

What happens next should viewed as their responsibility. (Even tho they put this awful roster together for Green).

Any change from Dumars will require selling Gayle Benson on the idea. Benson turned down David Griffin's request to fire Green multiple times. It would not surprise me if Dumars is ultimately successful in the next few weeks.

I reported earlier in the summer that Willie Green had lost support from the players and organization, yet Dumars was mandated by Benson to keep him around.

Green still does not have the locker and the Pelicans patience is wearing thin. Players are checked out and management sees it.

Hopkins goes back with Troy Weaver to Syracuse where they were on the staff together and won a championship in 2003
