Same, i already wanted to flip my tablet the other day because i sketched sth that ended up looking too similar to one of my finished illustrations in terms of theme, composition and even the pose 🫠
Yeah, in all fairness, building a community large enough to even notice you nowadays is hard af 🙃

Although i'd argue that even if you do offer super underpriced commissions, it doesn't guarantee you to be seen by the ones looking for commissions either

Yeah, you either build an established audience who are willing to pay the money, or you're less known but offer underpriced ych commissions is what i observed...

If only it wouldn't require having a base set for these types of commissions and quite frankly, i'm not good with working on sth that looks visually the same over and over (not to mention you'd need samples of that which also requires time to finish) 💦

I am grateful to everyone who shared my post btw, I truly am!
But i suppose no matter how much effort I put into this, that still isn't enough if the audience it reaches isn't the one looking for commissions....

In the end, even if I ask for help, there is no one who can truly help me out.

But it sure does hurt my pride as an artist quite a lot when your art doesn't get valued, especially when you spend all these hours on an artwork. So your mental health deteriorates and thus your speed in finish art also gets impacted.

I really don't what else to do at this point to get commissions these days.
I know I'm not the only one struggling with this in this economy, so it's hard to even point fingers at anything.
