Leftists must be careful not to alienate others and use this moment to point out the chronic lawlessness of the bourgeoisie.

Liberals will create homophobic memes, emphasizing the "unmanliness" of such an act and reinforcing cultural divides.

Communists that manage social media have a unique opportunity: the people tell us, by the thousands, what they think of socialism every day. We can collect these criticisms--valid or not--and prepare education material to meet the people where they are now.

There is no single event or person that precipitated America's march to the right. It is the result of the class war, which has existed since prehistory. As capitalism's crises grow more and more destructive, the Bourgeoisie will resort to more and more violent means to remain in power.

Trump's fascism didn't appear spontaneously, it is a product of a long process of development that would not have been possible without decades of bipartisan movement towards the right.

In short, the capitalist only risks becoming a worker. The worker risks everything and is at the mercy of the decisions made by the capitalist. That is, unless we organize to fire the boss.

The Bourgeoisie aren't united, but they have class solidarity. The people, desperate from the crises created by deregulation & inequality, might turn to socialism & liberation. The Bourgeoisie--Democrat & Republican--funnel them towards fascism instead, which would maintain bourgeois dictatorship.

The reason why so many old political cartoons are still relevant today is because we live under the same relations of production. Technology may have advanced, but we are still stuck under the boot of a ruling class with its origins in the middle ages and an ideology from the 18th century.

The idea that Trump's damage to bourgeois institutions can be "reversed" and returned to a fictionalized past where democracy reigned is a metaphysical, conservative belief.
There is only one reasonable path forward: Socialism!
