We have some beautiful long needle pines here as well. I had a roommate once who made beautiful pine needle baskets and would pull the car over to gather some from the ground if she saw extra long ones.

Fabulous! We live for trying the new things, annoying as they may be. This is such an exciting combination of materials, as suits Calypso herself perfectly.

The two arty things I’ve been doing lately are ice dyeing and enameling, which are coincidentally both about layering and abutting powdered colors. So when I saw that it was where my brain’s been busy. 🫟

It’s been perfect because each row is around 25 minutes. I’ve been working nonstop to get to this point to see if it all works and I’m so pleased. It’s the kraken’s tentacles and the red silk. Ice dyed by me.
I’m a teacher so today’s bad news hits home. In my blanket fort. This is great company. 🫟

Being a slight data nerd I actually edited it to say thinking and not knowing, realizing it could be a lot of things. 🙄. But I do truly love how pretty data can be. I taught math to my third graders for 18 years and was on a mission to show them that math was elegant. We made a lot of graphs. 🫟

I just found this today and loved it.

I watched it in the theatre. Visually it was stunning. Emotionally I was a wreck. I had read the book so I was prepared.
