Ah, good point — you’re right! bench::mark() only sees what happens inside R, so it misses memory used by the Rust side of Polars.

⚡ Results:
* dplyr: ~12–80s 🐢
* duckplyr: ~2–10s 🚀
* polars: ~1.8–10s 🚀🚀
* dbplyr: 47–171s 😬 (but i'm probably bad at it)
💾 Memory:
* dplyr: up to 2,099 MB
* dbplyr: ~2 GB
* duckplyr: up to 675 MB
* polars: as low as 35 MB ✨

👨💻 Started to work with big data and did some benchmarks with medium datasets (400k–3.5M rows, up to 490 MB).
📊 tl;dr → polars (lazy) is crazy efficient; duckplyr is a solid R-native alternative.

Finally, my (probably last!) research article has just been published in Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft. 🥳 This study explores the relationship between media use, trust, and political orientations. The findings reveal that both media use and trust vary depending on the type of media.
