Supporting caregivers - Strategies for families affected by suicide risk and childhood cancer Taking responsibility for a loved one's health often feels overwhelming and isolating. Join this panel discussion to learn about the experiences of informal caregivers and explore how social networks can offer assistance for families supporting individuals at risk of suicide and children with cancer. Dr. Jestico and Dr. Lascelles will share insights from their doctoral research followed by a discussion on the support needs of family members/relatives and practical ways healthcare professionals can provide meaningful assistance with limited resources. This webinar is part of the Nursing Reimagined Webinar Series that showcases the impact of research conducted as part of PhD programmes at Oxford Brookes University within The Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery. Important article from @thekingsfund.bsky.social πŸ‘‡ a preventative approach to health means prioritising children.

As co-chairs of the Children and Young People's Health Policy Influencing Group, we want to see child health become a national priority.

Yesterday was my PhD graduation at Oxford Brookes University. It’s been an utter privilege to study how friends & family support parents of children with cancer with decision-making, and a deeply transformational process. I am full of gratitude to so many people who’ve supported me along the way.
