My hubby's thesis advisor back in grad school had his whole office done in bookshelves with the books sorted by color, but he had the name, author, and color of each book memorized so he could just go, "oh, that's in Morgan's Geometric Measure Theory, dark blue book, should be here," and grab it

I'll confess I arranged our maths textbook shelf by color rather than subject, but I really like the way having a rainbow of maths books looks

Have you read the short story Pocosin by @tkingfisher.com? Is there a chance you're a witch and local small gods are looking for a safe place to pass? (my deep sympathies if so, that sounds like a hard life)

I think my favorite thing about "every city reveals its inner character" era of ice protests is that people keep saying portland is weird or cute or nice or silly when one of the most common chants at the ice building is people looking up at feds on the roof and yelling "jump! jump! jump!" in unison

That tends to be more in the fantasy than the horror, I'd say (though that's in most part to the horror being mostly in modern times and the characters not really encountering any horses, probably)

My mum got her house re-roofed at like 7 years ago, and despite multiple times going over the driveway with giant magnets we're *still* regularly finding nails in the gravel to this day. That and the chunks of roof tiles & plastic they left everywhere is why we would *not* recommend that company
