#OTD In 1991, Rosita la Monstrua de las Cuevas debuted on Sesame Street, becoming the first Mexican American Muppet character on the beloved children's program. She is also Sesame Street's first bilingual and first Latina Muppet character that is a regular member of the cast.

We were thrilled to welcome a group of BYU Cougars to the MACRI Visitor Center yesterday. They are traveling to different cities in Texas to learn about local history. Please wish them an insightful and safe trip!

NACCS was created by Chicana/o faculty & students from various academic associations who understood the need for an association of Chicana/o scholars. NACCS has provided the opportunity for communication among Chicana/o scholars & encourages & supports research that confronts inequitable structures.

#OTD in 1973, after building gradually, the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS), was formally created. Originally named the National Association of Chicano Social Scientists, it was renamed in 1995 to acknowledge the contributions of Chicanas in the association.
