I recently did a read through of golden age Namor, from origin to war years, and his ethnicity "look" is vague (maybe East Asian but with red hair??), but definitely not white (European). Having him be Mesoamerican is genius. It gives him a real world identity as part of a similar to T'Challa.

I want to get the goods on Namor, Talokan, and all the developed world elements. But even 6-12 months ago the Wakanda book was out of my budget for such things.

But both the book for DS and the conversation about Eternals gave some insight into what things mean I minute detail, which I love. Enter BPWF.

I have only felt moved to buy or read two other MCU "Art of..." books: Doctor Strange and Eternals, but have only purchased DS digitally. I had a brief twitter convo with the production designer or art director for Eternals, but have not pulled the trigger yet.

As I progressed through my Namor read through of Golden Age, and now The Invaders, I came to appreciate the MCU version even more. The origin story is tighter, and less contrived. I love the connection to Mesoamerica. I love that he is OOOLD. I love that vision.
