Mainstream America: We are obsessed with Heated Rivalry and Drag Race. We love them and can't get enough.
American Democrat politicians: LGBT people are not culturally normal. We will not speak of them.

Ken Martin's dysfunctional DNC alarms Democrats Donors, operatives and some DNC members are questioning his leadership, fundraising ability and handling of the party's 2024 election "autopsy."

Change will be hard. Many corporate Dems and centrists will wet their beds and cry. They will do everything to keep their feathered nest.

It's time to clean house and make life uncomfortable for them. It's the only way for us to have a chance.

My son has thrived at CU Boulder. Definitely a different experience than Denver, Colorado Springs or Anshutz. That faculty discount is huge.

He’s term limited and now content to do favors for his rich conservative friends. This man gets his tax advice from Art Laffer, his vaccine advice from RFK Jr, invited Musk to Colorado β€” that’s his circle and that’s who this is for.

Insta was where I saw it, and posted it to my story.

We do not work in the industry, but benefit from great service. This afternoon at the Rio, service sucked as they understaffed, but we came with 25%+ tip as it is not the servers fault.

Will have to make it to Aurora sometime.

Colorado is experiencing historic lows in snow pack. Our reservoirs will be lower than they have been in decades. There is battle over water rights and even the idea that we should allow data centers to come and set up shop guzzling up the little water we have is simply wrong. NO DATA CENTERS.

The polls show that the majority of people in the U.S. think Trump is corrupt. So: why is this not rammed down the throats of the media at every opportunity by the Dems? Anti-ICE, anti-Corruption - that is a good banner.

The political effects of X's feed algorithm

Feed algorithms are widely suspected to influence political attitudes. However, previous evidence from switching off the algorithm on Meta platforms found no political effects'. Here we present results from a 2023 field experiment on Elon Musk's platform X shedding light on this puzzle. We assigned active US-based users randomly to either an algorithmic or a chronological feed for 7 weeks, measuring political attitudes and online behaviour. Switching from a chronological to an algorithmic feed increased engagement and shifted political opinion towards more conservative positions, particularly regarding policy priorities, perceptions of criminal investigations into Donald Trump and views on the war in Ukraine. In contrast, switching from the algorithmic to the chronological feed had no comparable effects.
Neither switching the algorithm on nor switching it off significantly affected affective polarization or self-reported partisanship. To investigate the mechanism, we analysed users' feed content and behaviour. We found that the algorithm promotes conservative content and demotes posts by traditional media. Exposure to algorithmic content leads users to follow conservative political activist accounts, which they continue to follow even after switching off the algorithm, helping explain the asymmetry in effects. These results suggest that initial exposure to X's algorithm has persistent effects on users' current political attitudes and account-following behaviour, even in the absence of a detectable effect on partisanship.

A new paper shows that less than 2 months of exposure to Twitter’s algorithmic feed significantly shifts people’s political views to the right.

Moving from chronological feed to the algorithmic feed also increases engagement.

This is one of the most concerning papers I’ve read in awhile.

One of my favorite bands from the late 80s/early 90s. Saw them play at Drew University in the spring of 1989 (I think). Amazing concert.

Took the train from Huntingdon, PA (I was at Juniata) to Newark (my sister was at Drew).

Listened to their first two albums the whole ride.

Brian Fitzpatrick tries to come off as a β€œModerate”. His signs often include the word Independent.. how convenient if ppl aren’t paying attention.

The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they're the ones who are alone. In Minnesota, all of the ideological cornerstones of MAGA have been proved false at once. Minnesotans, not the armed thugs of ICE and the Border Patrol, are brave. Minnesotans have shown that their community is socially cohesivebecause of its diversity and not in spite of it. Minnesotans have found and loved one another in a world atomized by social media, where empty men have tried to fill their lonely soul with lies about their own inherent superiority. Minnesotans have preserved everything worthwhile about "Western civilization," while armed brutes try to tear it down by force.
