Do you know how I know that ICE & ICE wannabes are indiscriminately targeting anybody with brown skin?

Because they are going after Native Americans near reservations, too! With no paperwork, only masks & guns. That’s how I know.

Farm-to-table isn’t some Saturday farmers market w/ hippie honey & white guys w/ dreads selling mushrooms — it’s Mexicans picking your grapes, tomatoes, cabbage every single fucking day in brutal heat for 12 hours for shit pay & no healthcare. Your everyday produce comes from the backs of Mexicans.

People keep comparing our time to the Nazis. We don’t. We, Natives, have seen this before, here in the U.S.: Separation of families, prison camps, forced removals, aggressive raids, nationalism… Folks, it happened here. Google ‘the Trail of Tears’ and ‘Indian boarding schools.’ Learn a thing or two.

Mexicans aren’t immigrants. The Irish-Americans are. The Italian-Americans are; German-Americans. They are the ppl that crossed an ocean. Mexicanos are Indigenous to the soil you stand on. This border was made by ppl from across an ocean. Yet, you call us “wetbacks”? Your back is wetter than ours.

Before European invasion, we had no prisons. We had no homelessness. We had no hunger. No walls. No debt. Homosexuality (what we call 2 Spirits) was—and is—a blessing. Women chose the chiefs. Boys served the women. The land was respected as a mother that gives, not some *thing* to exploit. Imagine.

Call in. We’re game to chat.

Early on, I was taught that when a Two Spirit person walks through the door you stand up. Shake their hand & thank them b/c they just brought good medicine. They brought healing. For us, Two Spirits bring balance. They heal. I always stand up when they come into the room. Good people. Good medicine.

As a kid, I was told I wasn’t Mexican enough because I didn’t speak Spanish. I was told I wasn’t Native enough because I wasn’t born on the rez. Spanish is a foreign language from Spain. Reservations, many established as prison camps, are not the places we lived and thrived as a People.

Exactly. They count us like cattle and brand us with blood quantum.

Make no mistake, we’ve been fighting this fight for 533 years. You’re only learning of it now b/c of the Internet & TV. But it’s the same fucking cavalry. It’s the same blue-eyed, blonde-haired pink ppl who are coming after us. Nothing has changed but the era & and the uniform they wear.

You haven’t seen public racism this blatant in decades? Either you’re blind or you live in a very gated-community, privileged position.
