If the fellas had some sort of plan to further develop the space — something concrete and long term I would 100% support it but the guys are not new to this. Racing has been around all my life so I’m annoyed that even now they still can’t produce a concrete plan.

.. but to put people in a position to chose one or the other (because realistically that is what’s been asked when the demand is to postpone the project further) isn’t fair to the wider community.

I agree babe! My issue is with the way they’ve gone about everything. I would assume that those plans stopped following the interruption of the project, all together. My thing is that the same ppl now making those demands should have continued fighting for a space a long time ago…

Sit and speak with an actual resident and they will tell you how much they feel like this country is against the development and progression of VF; you can very well see it for yourself. Quite literally every single attempt to develop this community is met with opposition.

As someone who was very much exposed to the motor race space and culture of the south I understand and respect the history but that doesn’t validate what y’all are asking the government to do which is to stop the project. No official plan just baseless demands and vibes.

I usually don’t care to share but this is such.. bullshit. We don’t even have a hospital lol

So as a local Vieux-Fortian myself please tell me how rally for a motor sport space contributes to my community and their sustainability long term. VF does not have a local library, we don’t have proper sporting facilities and this is what yall want ppl to get behind.

Let’s talk about the fact that these groups only choose to rally because it’s their convenience being taken away and transformed into OPPORTUNITIES for the youth of the south and for the people who can’t afford to travel outside of vf for work.

Mainly by the Brewery and local motor friend groups who SOMETIMES host unofficial events during certain holidays. I grew up in those spaces and I can tell you that this isn’t the movement you think it is.

Let’s talk it. The base became a CONVIENT space to host motor races , even when events like drag wars were successful and consistently happening absolutely no one cared to invest in it long term. Let’s fast forward to current times where the base is probably used once or twice a year

Like let’s talk about Drag-Wars when it was actually doing sum for the south. Yall use the base for large scale events once or twice a year like BFFR
