He’s saying he works with maybe 16 players, so the squad size needs to be 21 to account for a few injuries. Yes, I would say that’s a very small squad size for a club side with 60+ competitive matches from August to May.

I just think it’s bizarre to totally deny that he’s part of that strategy.

It sounds like you’re just ignoring what he says in favour what you think he would say if he agreed with you.

Which part? Slot said a little over a year ago that he likes a small squad. He talked about 14-16 as the core of the squad. This past October after our league cup exit, he explained that when 3 or 4 are injured, he’s still working with 16 or so players but 21 total including the injured players.

But if he expressed a desire to have a small squad prior to the summer, how can you pretend he’s not part of that decision?
