Me, too. I guess some β€œreader app for visually impaired” (that’s an awkward word) is required. Thanks for the chat on this!

Update on the "no alt-text and no tag" situation. (My following terminology might not be 100 %.) I understand that there are "reader-apps" that can display alt-text for Bluesky (and probably many other) social media posts for both images and videos. It'd be neat to see 1) a reader, & 2) the results

Sorry about β€œno alt text”; I’m certain that I included it, but - as a video - I guess it got dropped:(

Who can identify the about 14 seconds of nearby birdsong?

Taken this morning in Bridgetown, NS, after last night’s few centimetres of snow. So far, the β€œfor rent” signs on these birdhouses haven’t worked! (iPhone video; more in alt-text)

How and when to see the total lunar eclipse on March 3 | CBC News In the early morning hours of March 3, the moon will glide through Earth's shadow, producing a total lunar eclipse across Canada. But what you see depends on where you are.

Nice explanatory article on the upcoming 3 March lunar eclipse by #CBC’s @nebulousnikki.bsky.social: www.cbc.ca/news/science... For us in the #maritimes, the moon will have set before totality

Tehran has changed dramatically since 1979. This vintage satellite map highlights its rapid growth. The city remains central amid ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran: soaratlas.com/maps/140676

On #InternationalPolarBearDay, we're highhlighting Hudson Bay, northern Ontario. Each winter, this sea ice is vital hunting ground for polar bears in & around Polar Bear Provincial Park. πŸ»β€β„οΈ

In a warming Arctic, ice forms later & melts earlier. @osi-saf.eumetsat.int tracks these changes.

It took some sleuthing (thanks for "landing strip nearby" hint). I'm going with "the region 'NW' of McMurdo with Hell's Gate above centre, Zucchelli Airfield just off the top, & Qinling Station (operated by Chinese) on the prominent, arrow-tipped island upper-left of centre"

Here's a look at some snowfall totals from across the Maritimes, via our volunteer observers.
Many observers noted that measurements were difficult to make due to the blowing and drifting snow.
