Yep it’s a damn storm; just actively trying not to lose sight of the exit, and hoping the storm stays where I leave it when I come through it. I chose not to touch alcohol for several weeks at the end of January but the first moment I get a break I’m pouring a triple.

Yeah I’m just trying to stay on top of it. A lot of being anxious, pissed off, sad, constantly responsible and sometimes frustrated; and some of it is like, Okay, there’s gonna be changes, and they don’t have to be negative, but goddamn it’s been emotional and exhausting.

My shit started piling up around Valentine’s Day: I thought Mercury was in retrograde but no, that happens this week. The postal service lost my rent check. My elderly cat might die soon. Blocked from accessing my cats insurance on the web. My roommate is being laid off. Tons of other shit too.

My buddy Malcolm of nearly 15 years is at that age where things start piling up pretty fast. His eyesight is at 25 percent, has arthritis, battles constipation and now his food is going from dry to wet. His last days are on the horizon. Gonna weep when his number is called.

I thought it was pretty good. You follow a man with minute education or intelligence who finds himself adrift before and after he finds and loses his sense of purpose. Even the most important things he’s helped to build is obsolete in time. It’s not a complex film but it was beautifully made.

Heh yeah, I go on a kick with this band from time to time. I love the late 80’s dub/ska rhythm to this tune though. They tend to be mostly political yet completely enthusiastic for the mystical ideas and methods of various cultures.
