Now that I know Edgar is okay, I want to relay a cautionary tale about trusting your gut and advocating for yourself and your pet because I had a very bad experience when Edgar had to be rushed to the vet last week.

The biopsy results came back and it wasn't cancer. It was some sort of abscess, and he just needs antibiotics and to recover from blood loss.
That asshole at the first vet wanted me to put down a healthy dog because he's ageist and annoyed I was there.

Somewhere between vet offices Edgar managed to spit out the mass that was bleeding in his mouth, much to everyone's surprise
This vet specifically said she isn't a disease and he seems healthy and to have been healthy his whole life when I told her his history. At no point did she say put him down8/

He left us alone to think it over. I called the emergency vet since the bleeding had stopped and asked if I could bring him in. They said sure, and I packed up my dog, dropped $600 and left.
At the emergency vet, the doctor we saw was kind, compassionate, checked Edgar out, and suggested a biopsy 7/

I was livid. Edgar is my soul dog. I have had him for his whole life, and he, up until his mouth started bleeding, had been spritely, bratty, and seemingly young for his age.
When I pressed him, the vet rolled his eyes, and was like I can do a biopsy but you may as well just euthanize him. 6/

Edgar in since he had never seen him before, even though I explained that I thought they were an emergency vet.
He knocked Edgar out to look at his mouth and was like, "You should put him down. He's old. He probably has melanoma and will die, and you couldn't afford the treatment."
