Iβm absolutely delighted to be joining @listentotimesradio.bsky.social as a presenter of βThe Times at Oneβ. You want an unstuffy, authoritative take on the news? With the occasional bit of hard talk? Tune inβ¦.
Thank you, much appreciated!

31.03.2025 14:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Already missing HARDtalk and @stephensackur.bsky.social, one of the best prepared and well read journalists ever. No sucking up to the big and powerful. Especially in these daring times we'd need more of this clarity, not less. Hope to see some kind of continuation on a new platform. #iconsLiveOn
31.03.2025 13:34 β π 9 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0What a loss for the BBC; there goes my favorite program. Thanks a ton, Stephen, for everything you and your team have done over the years. Mind-boggling that HARDtalk was cancelled β and at such a turbulent time β but I hope your 'new adventures' include it somehow continuing in a different form.
31.03.2025 14:15 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Your final Hardtalk episode was an evocative reminder of the gross error in judgement by the BBC. It's been an invaluable public accountability engine. Thank you for all you've done to make it so. As the US moves into theatrical abuse of power, its cancellation is utterly incomprehensible.
28.03.2025 10:04 β π 14 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you Lucentia!

Sorry about that Stephen, hope you go on to great things and we one day get a BBC back to be proud of
27.03.2025 15:32 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you!π
28.03.2025 09:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you so much for so many years of the best, most interesting & inspiring interviews available, holding people accountable for their actions & never letting the powerful get away with shallow phrases & excuses. It is a, huge, unforgivable mistake of @bbcworldservice.bsky.social to end Hardtalk.
27.03.2025 15:36 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 1 π 1The BBC wouldnβt recognise quality broadcasting if it was hit over the head with it. Very sorry to hear your going but much looking forward to your new platform.
27.03.2025 16:00 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0So sad but thank you for the excellent and hard talks during all these years!
27.03.2025 16:15 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I could never match the great Studs Terkel!
28.03.2025 09:16 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Just at the time when the world needs more of your fearless journalism. Thank you for all those years of speaking truth to power.
27.03.2025 22:01 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0You will be desperately missed. Thank you for the contributions to understanding the world
today. Best wishes going forward.

@stephensackur.bsky.social Just watching tonight's/this morning's HARDtalk and still feeling furious as a licence payer that the show has been cancelled. More than ever, we need journalists holding power to account. Looking forward to your next venture and sending best wishes.

Just a reminder of the fall of the BBC and the Tory lightweight journalists it now prefers - at the same time as ditching their mighty flagship HardTalk programme and the great @stephensackur.bsky.social

BBC management is closing @BBCHARDtalk after three decades holding power to account around the world. Here are some thoughts β¬οΈ

Itβs true, Trump often gets what gets what he wants, but I have a hunch the Scandinavians in charge of the Nobel Peace Prize arenβt going to be looking in his direction anytime soonβ¦
On the upside, thereβs always Russiaβs highest honour, the Order of St Andrew the Apostleβ¦
Iβm in Delhi to do a series of @BBCHARDtalk interviews which should give clues to Indiaβs political direction in Modiβs third term. BJP Minister, former Chief Justice and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir all coming up! And time to visit some of my favourite Delhi placesβ¦
