While love is at the heart and soul of our values as Unitarian Universalists, a guiding and distinguishing force for our tradition over its four- and-a-half-century history has been freedom. That includes spiritual freedom. A look at how we continue to keep the torch of freedom burning bright.

Join us for an imaginative Sunday morning in which we explore the connection between creativity and spirituality while participating in opportunities for artistic expression and reflection. This service is adapted from a monthly intergenerational group run by Danielle Burby, UUFH member.

How are we, as UUs, called to care for creation? With Love at the center. But love is just the start. It's not all we need. We are endangering the survival of our species. Yet hope remains. We will consider how we are called to care for our planet and for one another and learn practical steps.

The annual Flower Ceremony is one of only two uniquely Unitarian Universalist ceremonies that UUs celebrate throughout the world. We will recall the history of the Flower Ceremony and Rev. Norbert Čapek, and we will share our blooms with one another. Bring your flowers!

Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the military dead. What does this mean in the most warlike nation in the history of the world? What would it look like if we really were to honor the memory of the dead? There will also be time to name members of families who served and who died.

The first mothers day wasn't a day for flowers and taking your mother to lunch. It was a day that mothers of soldiers came together to demand peace. Perhaps its time to revive that tradition.

With May 4th also being recognized as Star Wars Day ("May the Fourth be with you"), to explore the intersection of science and spirituality. Unitarian Universalism values diversity and inclusion and to honor and explore their own identities in the interdependent web we are all a part of.

Guest Minister Reverend Mwibutsa Ndagijimana is conducting a service this Sunday, March 9, 2025. Reverend Mwibutsa is a Burundi native and was forced to flee violence and persecution there, having been released from imprisonment due to world wide Unitarian Universalist effort.

UUFH is sponsoring a fundraiser for Rev. Mwibutsa. You may remember Rev. Mwibutsa ("mwee-BOOT-sah"). (He is the former minister of the UU church in Burundi.) We'll have a discussion with Rev. Mwibutsa, snacks, desserts, raffles, crafts, and a number of short films. We hope you will join us!

Tuesday March 4 is Mardi Gras--Fat Tuesday--the end of the carnival season. We will look at the history of Mardi Gras in the United States and see what lessons we can carry from this into our lives today.

Shelley Brazley, commissioner of the Club 365 Mobile Museum, will present an exhibit that provides context for the current national DEI misinformation and confusion. It also provides a glimpse of and a deeper understanding of many issues we still face.

We will explore what it means to truly keep a sabbath and refrain from work one day a week. What would that look like in your life? How might we all benefit from slowing down in this way? Come and find out.

We live in a world with enough resources to feed and house everyone, yet millions live in abject poverty. A few live off the backs of the poor while the marginalized are struggling for survival. What lessons can we learn from the dragons of the past?
