you've heard of fix-it fic, well I'm writing 'make it worse' fic.

for some reason we were doing the original Du Maurier story in English class and I suppose it was a sort of 'compare and contrast' thing. Around the same time they also traumatised us with Day of the Triffids (fear of plants) and horrifically bleak nuclear war film Threads (scarred for life).

here is some fandom commentary from me: I think the j&p book might have achieved something truly wonderful - united the tumblr fandom and the dad-nerds fandom at last in pure hatred.
