It was such a boys game. I don’t dislike it for that at all. As a girl you get used to most media not catering to you. I think Robert was a great character for the straight girlies, but there wasn’t much else. I’m writing a hero comic that’s not nsfw, but tries to appeal to different tastes.

Working on the twin piece for the other piece I finished celebrating @realgdt.bsky.social’s #frankenstein. Representing Act 2 which encompasses the beginning and end of the film. It’s the full circle: timeless, resonating, and whole.

Mind you, this has been a WIP for a year and sat for four months until I tacked on about 60 pages in the last few days and did a quick revision of the first 80. I wrote an interlude that spoiled half of the mystery of the story, so I had to rearrange a lot of the first bit to make it not trash.

Wrote about 16 pages tonight on my manuscript. My chapters are getting longer and longer. But I know that when I read it later I will cut out so much garbage like I did with the first half of the damn thing. The joy of writing.

I don’t think I ever posted this one on Instagram.

I still really love this Darkman piece I did last year or year before. It was my first real attempt at making a fully rendered piece with my sketching style. My digital work is very stiff and sterile, so this was my first time trying to marry digital with my comfort zone in traditional sketches.

I just want them to be extrovert/introvert BFFs, okay??? #frankenstein

Got two chapters done on one of my manuscripts, spent time adding to the Frankenstein WIPs, and finished memorizing my monologue for an upcoming community theater audition. Feeling really good!

With the internet sending in a tidal wave of love, my voice is getting lost in the wash anyhow. But both the film itself and the conversation surrounding it is so inspiring, it makes me want to put my all into my projects. It’s just hard to do when I want to check my phone every two seconds.

Still working on the twin piece for Frankenstein and another one dedicated to Elizabeth. Knowing how my brain is prone to fixation, when I’m done I’ll probably try and escape the internet for a while. Frankenstein—my heart—is wonderful, but as a creator I need some brain space for my own creatures.

The parasites told me to buy every Save the Cat! Book in the series, and now the parasites are telling me to utilize the other ones alongside the first book which is almost ten years old and begging for mercy.

My vibrato is better when I sing if I’m nervous. Celebrating my aunts birthday doing karaoke!

My only problem with it is that because of the lack of traditional structuring that urges me into writing conflict, this one I fear may be interesting to me, but not so much for others. Thank goodness for beta readers and editors though for when I get to that point.

Feeling good about finishing this first draft of this manuscript I’m working on. No idea what possessed me to write this story, but it’s been easier to tackle than so many other projects. Unlike those other ones, this was the first that felt like I didn’t need an outline to know exactly what to do.

Finished another chapter of one of my stories. Tonight I’m going to work on the twin piece for the first Frankenstein one I posted and maybe get to some character sheets for another one of my stories which I have plans to turn into a comic.

McCarthyism and the Hollywood Blacklist was one of my favorite subjects that my professors allowed me to indulge in studying and discussing. However, it’s absolutely something that I would be happy to not see repeated in my lifetime. Good God.

Finished my first piece for @realgdt.bsky.social’s wonderful Frankenstein film just in time for its wide release on Netflix! The passion and craft that went into making the film is an inspiration. If my voice is raw from singing its praises, then I will make art to celebrate instead!

I think I’m finished. It’s a very busy piece but I think I can post it tomorrow to celebrate the release of the film! Maybe tonight. We’ll see. I feel like I need to set it down to simmer before I try and be brave about posting it haha.

Watching Dispatch on my phone while the power is out. I can’t buy the game yet but I think I have to because oh my lord it’s so much fun. I love story structures like this heavy on character development.

I have a lot more I could say but genuinely it I think would be its own essay and idk if this is the place for that haha.

I love how immediately when you discussed media literacy my mind went straight o Boardwalk Empire. It’s my favorite show to come back to for complex narratives that don’t always resolve in emotionally satisfying ways or even cathartic ways in the fashion of tragedy.

Progress halted again. No computer to type on because the power is out now. But my iPad should be charged now so I could always tackle that.

While I wait for my device to charge so I can keep arting I’m working on rounding out the cast of some of my writing projects. It’s an anthology set in one fantasy world and figuring out the characters wants and needs helps me sort out the conflict before writing because I always get stuck on drama.

My iPad died so I’m forced to pause my pieces agh!

Get the whole day to myself to tackle some creative projects for the first time in two weeks!

Ah hey thanks so much!!! I’m definitely super invested in these pieces. It’s such an inspiring film, I can’t stop thinking about it! And I’m so over the moon about that, he’s been my filmmaking hero since I was about 10 when my dad showed me Hellboy!

Woke up to a ton of notifications today?!? Over a WIP?!?

I think the only reason I’d still want Twitter is because I have a few cool people following me for some reason that either don’t follow me elsewhere or don’t have other socials. But frankly I’ve had embarrassing encounters with other people I admire there that I genuinely could be happy deleting.
