No doubt. But this is the leverage US as a powerful country has, and that this admin has taken advantage of. No one can ignore the US, no one can say “we will stop trading with you” and not suffer loss,. And that is why the US should behave responsibly, which of course the admin won’t.

That a human being could think about building an “American riviera” where thousands of innocent people have died is disgusting.

What needs to be added to this and highlighted constantly is that Musk does what he does for his benefit and to the detriment of the residents of the country. There is a huge conflict between his interest and what is in the best interest of the American people. Musk is harming us.

There’s been a kind of…fashion of late to view anti-Trump libs as lame and cringe and just annoying, aesthetically. I remember this exact same aesthetic judgment in the run-up to the Iraq war. The earnest libs were right then and they’re right now.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Yesterday I person I have known for some time told me that she had voted for Trump because she “did not like Harris at all.” It also came out (since we were talking about Elon) that she did not know what the apartheid was. Keep remembering- these people vote.
