To expand on this, a phrase I felt fitting is this:

"You're building the entire game again to add 1 feature."

The games first prototype versions were August 2022, its taken 3ish years to get where we are today.

It'll probably take that time to add 1 feature, its not feasible.

So please, stop asking for Multiplayer, it isn't happening, at least not from us.

Feel free to attempt to mod it in, but as I've seen, modders who have/are attempting to mod this have immediately hit a wall with the event and item sync.

If you figure it out and get it working, hats off to you!

Because now, you have something to blame it on. "It's just so and so being dumb in the basement", suddenly that fear factor is diminished, its not as "Punchy" as if you were alone. It's why you can get kerfur/omega kerfur, they fill in the "lonely" aspect somewhat, its why they're so popular an NPC.

VotV was not designed as a multiplayer game, you're alone in a facility in the middle of nowhere, that's the point. You're going to overreact to random noises, events, strange things going on, your mind will start filling the gaps. If it was multiplayer that immediately disappears.
