Douglas Hurd, do you mean? Iβm sorry youβre not up for a more nuanced conversation. Have a good day.
09.03.2026 13:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs not just βan attackβ. It was murder. The misinformation following it was spread by Reform and racists online. The BBC may have exacerbated by reporting on it, true, because they donβt always get the balance right, but the blame is more with Reform, Daily Mail etc.
09.03.2026 12:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Itβs βmay not haveβ and βmight as wellβ, not βofβ. Oh dear. See, I can be patronising too.
09.03.2026 12:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The BBC, for all its flaws, doesnβt kill anybody.
09.03.2026 06:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Youβre conflating BBC News and politics with everything else they do. Thereβs so much more to the BBC.
08.03.2026 23:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Arenβt ALL stories about their own characters and events? Themes and ideas rise out of the characters and events. Not everything has to be Dostoevsky. Itβs a coming of age for Luke, all that stuff.
08.03.2026 23:13 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm old, but itβs my favourite comics run of all time. Peak Moore and Davis.
08.03.2026 19:37 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It reads like they had big plans but got word of cancellation so had to compress several planned episodes into one.
08.03.2026 19:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve been less impressed but I do agree - and this weekβs episode was really good.
07.03.2026 01:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So true
04.03.2026 10:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm all for collective silliness, but I do t think the rest of Cardiff Bay is, sadly.
04.03.2026 09:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is a bit odd that itβs continued so long - I can imagine most people are bemused by it. And it does look a bit tatty, to be fair.
04.03.2026 08:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The problem is, there arenβt any competitors for what it does best, which is sell magazines and comics. If it goes, that will be the death knell for many smaller publishers.
03.03.2026 12:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Thatβs the first thing I saw!
03.03.2026 09:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm going to try asking my wife is she fancies a plum shuttle later. Iβll let you know if I survive.
02.03.2026 12:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm pretty sure thatβs either an hallucination or the article is coming us from the 17th century.
02.03.2026 11:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm not sure there was a plan. If he did, it certainly wasnβt what Marvel US actually did with her! Moore went more or less straight from this to Swamp Thing, so his focus was on that.
25.02.2026 16:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed. Itβs a pity Thorpe didnβt do more.
25.02.2026 16:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good point
25.02.2026 16:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Davis and Delano! Jamie D went on to create Hellblazer after this. Now, Iβm old so I may be misremembering, but I think at the time there was some talk of Marvel US doing the Jaspers storyline bigger once they saw how good it was. In the end, they just reprinted for the US market.
25.02.2026 16:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs such a good page. Alan Davis rapidly evolved from a scrappy, rough and ready newcomer to a smooth seasoned pro in a matter of months.
24.02.2026 11:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just stumbled on your posts. Very impressed that youβre discovering 80s Captain Britain. I was about 12 when this came out and it was the most brilliant thing Iβd ever seen. Itβs hard to convey how different it was to everything that came before. A quantum leap in comics.
23.02.2026 19:11 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Youβre thinking of Steven Moffat
22.02.2026 21:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A motorbike in the bedroom but not a single book in the house. You really canβt buy class.
22.02.2026 21:41 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am so pleased, you canβt imagine. I bought the pictured with my first paycheck as a teacher back 1991 or 2. Over 30 years later, itβs still in great condition. I canβt wait for the new series!
21.02.2026 23:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Legalisation or decriminalisation? The first would mean having to introduce legal overview like with cigarettes and alcohol. Decriminalisation would mean not prosecuting for possession and treating it like a public health issue instead, I think?
