Starting a brand new Forever World and I'm really excited to get building! I have so many ideas.

I've been fussing with my shader settings for a good 3 days or so and I still can't get anything I'm super happy about. Everything is too bright or too dark with no real fix in the settings. I miss how the old version 4 complementary looked on my old PC/Monitor but I can't recreate it TwT

Forest temple build WIP inspired by stave churches... been really wanting to play around more with Nordic inspired fantasy architecture... definitely not influenced by a recent Skyrim binge or anything tho.

IMO, there are too many villages in minecraft. I like the more isolated feel of the game tbh, and I get frustrated when villages are in the way of an otherwise good build spot. Sure, you can tear them down, but it's annoying.

Worth noting, I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just figuring it out as I go! But it's been nice to feel productive when I actually have the time to sit down and work on it.

Okay, maybe I'm warming up to the idea of a "Forever World". Maybe I need to work on my commitment issues after all.

So many people seem to be all about seeds with "crazy" structures or "rare" terrain generation but like... what about seeds with terrain that just offers *really nice* views? Underrated, IMO.

Spent some time decorating another spawner XP farm the past couple of days, I'm really happy with this design. I'll probably try to do a full tour or build video or something soon!

I started editing my footage today and uh, boy is it time consuming.

I will say recording is illuminating as far as how much time I actually spend building things... seven hours just for a simple house in survival seems excessive. I need to work on my efficiency ;w;

Apparently when I thought I had installed the codec I needed it wasn't the right one, or perhaps not an updated one, because I tried yet again to install the "missing" codec and... this time it actually fixed the problem without need for workarounds. So. Recording today? Perhaps?

Is it completely unnecessary to decorate the spawner chamber for the XP farm? Yes. But that doesn't stop me.

I think I have at least a good-enough-for-now workflow figured out for videos, provided I don’t keep running into new and interesting issues. I have errands today but tomorrow I might try recording a little survival build session. Stay tuned.

The “forever world”Minecraft trend right now fills me with a lot of anxiety and dread, I do not have it in me for that level of commitment. I like exploring new worlds and coming up with build ideas that way 🥲

I can't record .mkv either without the quality being really awful and glitchy I have no clue why, I've tried changing various settings so many times now. Also, these problems have been going on now for a few versions of OBS, and upgrading usually causes new problems, so I'm hesitant at the moment.

OBS 29.1.3 currently -- The only codec that records without issue for me is H.265 (HEVC) which I had to (re?) install to get anything to work at all. The current problem is once I import the MP4 file into DaVinci Resolve, it gives me a 'Media Offline' error, unless I convert it with VLC first.
