I love that! I had one grad class that encouraged us to write tasks, but I wish the professor had also had us share the tasks on a discussion board for feedback and to build our collection.

28.06.2025 17:14 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I think that's one of the things I am really loving about this book too - there's a chapter on procedural tasks and how to elevate even that type of process.
28.06.2025 17:11 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It wasn't until I started getting involved in social media that I started seeing classroom teachers actively engaged in writing tasks.
28.06.2025 17:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Agree on Don Steward - some amazing tasks there!
And I also agree that experience plays a part, but is it currently addressed at all? I would say that for a good part of my career, I thought that tasks were up to the textbook writers, not the everyday classroom teacher.
True - Most of my best growth as a teacher was due to social media.
28.06.2025 16:44 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0And I recognize that because of the global connections we've made due to social media, we are exposed to ideas outside of our geographic area.
And when I'm thinking of good problems, my go-to's tend to be some of the UK sites
I totally understand the time issue. Even once you are out in the workforce and you have the content, students and pedagogy, there's still the time issue :)

28.06.2025 16:34 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Or is it just who I follow? Am I just in a bubble due to the experiences I've had online and being able to connect with so many amazing educators?
28.06.2025 16:28 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0All valid points. But at what point do we engage with that discussion? It seems like there should be a point where task design is part of the journey / training.
28.06.2025 16:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0I am currently reading Mathematical Tasks by Chris McGrane and Mark McCourt. I also follow several UK maths teachers and really enjoy the tasks they share. It makes me wonder about task design - is it part of the teacher training program or just related to who I follow?
28.06.2025 15:40 — 👍 5 🔁 3 💬 2 📌 0I haven't made it to the "go through my bookshelves" stage of summer yet :)
27.06.2025 14:27 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Thanks! I think I have that book too!
27.06.2025 14:10 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Does anyone know if there is a collection of error analysis or spot the error problems for HS Geometry?
Thanks!

12.06.2025 14:55 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Flipped Math might be another resource to check out. I know our Calculus teacher has used it.
07.06.2025 15:44 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Thanks! I want to work at integrating technology more efficiently this year to help students explore relationships.
07.06.2025 15:38 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Thanks for sharing! I need to explore more Geogebra tools for my geometry classes :)
07.06.2025 15:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0The ST was assigned to this teacher and then took over after spring break. It worked really well and I saw a lot of growth in the ST over the semester.
07.06.2025 14:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0We were really lucky this past semester that we had a student teacher that took over during maternity leave.... but something like ATA where they already have videos and notes and assignments might not be a bad idea depending on what you are teaching
07.06.2025 14:05 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Maybe not ideal, but would the school purchase something like ATA that comes with videos?
07.06.2025 13:32 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0There is at least one Desmos activity similar to this
06.06.2025 11:57 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I am definitely more paper oriented for things like this!
05.06.2025 21:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Okay - this is BRILLIANT - thank you!
I always go to my previous year's planner and/or my copy of the student notebook. Putting post-it's there would be perfect. I could have a stack of post-it's to jot notes and then move to them to the notebook as needed.
Thank you!
I totally understsand losing things on Drive :)
05.06.2025 18:21 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Drive drives me crazy TBH - I have multiple Gmail accounts and it's so difficult to switch ownership between them. I think I'm in one account and then it's switched me to another one... and it's a pain to organize!
05.06.2025 17:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0LOL - the idea behind an electronic copy is good, but I don't follow through with it well :(
05.06.2025 17:44 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I need a better way to organize ideas, tasks, & activities for various lessons/chapters...
I've tried electronic and I always forget it even exists - out of sight, out of mind?
I've tried paper and that works ok, but maybe need to organize it better?
What do you do?
