27.02.2026 00:14 — 👍 24 🔁 3 💬 0 📌 0(cont 2) Worst was a sign that got left up in the middle of a sidewalk, forcing people with baby strollers and wheelchairs to merge go onto the active road to get around it. I dismounted my bike and helped a young mother pick up and move the sign.
25.02.2026 16:18 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0(cont) If the placement of these signs is dangerous enough, I have actually picked them up and thrown them aside before and I encourage others to do the same, especially if there is actually no active construction nearby (they often leave these signs up for hours/days after).
25.02.2026 16:14 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This happens so much. They treat bicycle infrastructure as a dumping ground for things that might make drivers upset. Lost track of the amount of times a sign has blocked a bike path/lane and my only option is to walk it on the sidewalk or merge into 60kph traffic and risk my life.

15.02.2026 18:25 — 👍 12 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0They're very handy. Can also use them as another monitor if you need extra display space even if you're not actively drawing on it at the time.

10.02.2026 03:11 — 👍 12 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Indeed. Blender does a lot of things very well and has improved so much over the years but there are still some things it blows chunks at. Texturing and material baking being some examples. Substance Painter is orders of magnitude better for making and baking textures.

made quake style liquid displacement in blender shader nodes! it's a very simple motion, but with the right texture looks surprisingly good

05.02.2026 06:30 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I did! I followed the course mostly but I did do a few things my own way, such as the edge damage and the rings on the tops of the knobs. Mostly noise generators and edge/AO masks, nothing too complicated.

I've had to refund Udemy courses before because of crap like that. Another common problem are courses that require third-party assets that were once free to download but are no longer available, making them impossible to complete as taught. Very important to include all needed assets with the course
03.02.2026 16:27 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Citrus birb!
03.02.2026 16:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Pretty simple! Feed 2 bevel nodes with differing distance values into a difference mode and that will output edge data you can use as a mask. Then you can use that mask along with a noise texture into a bump node so you get the noise only along edges. Adjust further with colour-ramps and map range.
