No way; completely different than Paths of Glory, with excellent siege system and 9 scenarios instead of one, long campaign. Also, decks of cards is customized for each scenario. This is really worth trying.

Wonderful game; great starting point. Despite a bit of myth around this game, it is pretty straightforward and logical. Once you get the main concept, it flows nicely. And teaches so much about history. Have fun!

Chronicles of Avel is a wonderful family game, in which we cooperatively work to repeal Beast trying to destroy our realm. Replayable, beautiful and with varied level of difficulty - great game. Below my impressions!

It is a bit - I believe to some extent this comes from the fact this is a generic battle, with historical annotations but not depicting actual historical event.

True, always fun with team plays.

I am going to play it with friends and share the impressions. Two things which I already noticed and like is that the alliances are not pre-determined but they form during the game; plus if one player is out, the side loses - so you need to help your buddies to stay afloat!
