The study found that the Pentagon earmarked billions of dollars to secure a growing list of critical minerals for use in military hardware – from precision-guided weaponry to emerging military technologies such as “AI-driven autonomous warfare platforms”.

Canada is home to ~25% of the world’s peatlands, containing around 150 billion tonnes of carbon. But they’re under threat. Today, WCS Canada launched a proposed National Peatland Strategy, built with 100+ experts 🌎

UN climate talks and Canadian policy can't ignore fossil fuels COP30 ended with an astounding contradiction: an agreement to get to net-zero emissions by 2050 without acknowledging the need to wind down use of the fossil fuels.

#COP30 failed to adopt a proposal to develop a roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels.

In other words, 3 decades have consolidated an astounding contradiction: an agreement to get to net-zero w/out acknowledging the need to wind down #fossilfuels.
