in their campaigns. The other side is saying that Amanda, Ashley, and Liz are trying to start “culture wars” (the thing Amanda campaigned in opposition to), when in fact, they are just attempting to adopt the policy recommended by OSBA.

It is important to note that in May, Amanda Page and Ashley Proctor ran campaigns that centered DEI and educational equity and they won by 8.5 and 5 points, consecutively. This is what the people of Redmond voted for. These school board members are just trying to live out the promises they made

The policy adopted by the Redmond School Board (a conservative board at the time) in August of 2020 was the one recommended by OSBA at the time. In 2023, the far-right majority voted to completely gut the policy to only the words required by law. The new proposed policy is recommended by OSBA and

update. Earlier this month at a work session, Amanda proposed that the board adopt OSBA’s (the Oregon School Board Association) latest version of the policy from 2021.
