Novel is set in pre-revolutionary France and the upcoming turmoil is a consistent theme throughout. It follows an engineer named Jean-Baptiste Baratte and chronicles his efforts in clearing an overfilled graveyard that is polluting the surrounding area.
Ooh buddy, thank you for letting me know that.

Ugh, how gross, fuck whatever news org that was.
I've had a long fiction reading rut, was only reading nonfiction last few years, that finally broke with Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. Think portal fantasy by way of C.S. Lewis Narnia with a dash of Borges/Plato.

12.11.2025 13:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0that is until i read the blurb for susanna clarke's piranesi and i just finished reading and my heart feels very full
i think i just needed the right book to sort of rip off that band-aid and now i'm ready to dive into other worlds again :)
just finished reading susanna clarke's piranesi
while i've not stopped reading books, the last few years have been filled with my reading history books, non-fiction biographies, etc.
fiction sort of disappeared from my diet of reading and i kept trying to get back into something but nothing stuck
This is up on Youtube now. Sorry for the wait.

wife and i both allow ourselves "politics ranting time" and we check-in to make sure we're both okay with having a vent-session
and then we unplug,
take a deep breath
we're in the thick of a trumpf presidency & it it sucks
staying informed and plugged in is important, so is resisting and fighting and showing up,
also, unplugging from it all is ALSO a form of resistance
paint, dance, laugh, watch movies, cook, workout, find YOUR bit of offline and breathe
a squat orange bird with a long red beak, wavy lines and brushstrokes radiate from the bird, bird looks very owl like and the eyes are bright saphire like colouring and makes the bird look a bit sunstruck or shocked in surprise
greenish feather bird illustration, used a bright green pen in procreate, a feathery peacock like colouring of blue-green, a longish beak is pointing to the left and downwards, a bright orange and pale blue eye as the bird sort of peaks out from the right side of the illustration as if saying peak a boo
a bird illustration, fire orange pencils on black in procreate, the bird is shown from the front facing perspective, close up shot of its beak with dark orange flaming eyes and a mess of stringy hair to the left and right of the bird beak
