View from front door: van bonnet immediately outside.
View from window: pavement-parked van blocking light & view.
Typical Cambridge Victorian terraced street with cars legally pavement-parked both sides.
First 2 are the current view from our door & window. As you'll see from the pavement markings, van driver is within his rights to block our light. The 3rd is a typical street in our part of Cambridge. On bin day the gap between cars & houses is full of wheelie bins, since there's no gutter space.

Staying abroad too long could present two tax problems: people might not spend enough days in Dubai to qualify for residency there; and might spend too many days in the UK and be counted as UK tax residents.

Wealthy Dubai residents race back to UAE to avoid tax bills
Some risk spending too few days in the emirate and too many in the UK
A private jet was βan instrument of returnβ to keep them within their fiscal terms, βin many cases with the cost of a jet being far lower than their potential tax bill if they miss the minimum daysβ

Girl, 12, hopes to plug funding gap for Leckhampton zebra crossing
Amalie hopes to raise the final Β£7,000 needed for the crossing outside a school in Leckhampton.
Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) said previously the Β£75,000 crossing does not count as a priority as no-one had yet been killed or seriously injured.
12-year-old Amalie said: "We shouldn't wait for that to happen, we should put it in place now to make it safe."

I've just stumbled over Berlin's "Expropriate Deutsche Wohnen & Co" campaign -compulsory buying (back) of the property of private landlords with 3,000 or more units in the city, through public purchases by the Berlin state government.
Now that sounds to me like a vote winner. Start with Criterion.
