What I found unexpected is that interpretations of QM are unnecessary because there's no reason to assume it doesn't partly describe our reality. After all, we ourselves are part of the QM world.

I liked this book and also his book "I Am a Strange Loop" (2007).
The subject has fascinated me for 40 years and now the penny has finally dropped, thanks to my knowledge of Bayesian reasoning and layered telecommunications protocols.

"Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid" (1979) by Douglas Hofstadter had a lasting effsct on me.
He was almost completely right. What he and others overlooked is that we all had to create our Self before we could do anything, even before we were born.

He really needed new tires. The old ones were worn out and sent him into the woods. Hopefully, he'll come to his senses, but I fear the worst.
