Selfie of my napping 8-week-old mini poodle, Rocket, and me. Rocket is laying on a soft blue and white blanket, he has white fur on his snout and a little white streak on his forehead, white paws, and light golden brown everywhere else. Still had his puppy coat of hair. I’m smiling by him and wearing my black Volcom hat.
Quick timeline cleanse. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from Rocket and me! 🎄(He’s my 8-week-old mini poodle who I’ve had for only 4 days 🐶🥰 and I am absolutely in love with this sweet pup 🩷🤗)

To the macOS team at Apple:
Please put the volume/sound UI thing back in the middle of the screen and with clear level segments. Having to look up to the right corner of the screen when adjusting volume does not feel good. This is me begging sort of. 🙏🏽 Thank yew.

👋🏼 Friendly reminder to Clean (Xcode’s) Dirty Diaper if things are behaving unexpectedly during development. (Also known as Clear Derived Data.) It’s a quick wipe, and nobody wants to take the time to do it, *butt* it’s necessary.
Thank yew 🙂

To be clear, I’m very familiar with SwiftUI and its modifiers. I’m also aware of different ways to go about this, and have done a “working” version before. However, I am wondering if any of you out there have an opinionated suggested approach backed by proof and reasoning.

In a SwiftUI app, if you were tasked with building an infinite video feed (like TikTok, YT shorts, etc), what would you use to do it? IGListKit, or roll your own in UIKit (*representable), or something else? Or is there a good SwiftUI implementation? (No haters pls)

If anyone can replicate the absolutely flawless camera/video shutter button in TikTok, I applaud you and please let me know if you that’s you! In particular, it somehow flawlessly handles single tap and long press gestures with zero delays. Incredible. 🤩

Oh hey thanks! I thought I saw a YouTube short from Amos or someone showing a camera integration using Stream. Anyway, thank you! Also, Martin has been really helpful via Twitter DMs!

I’ve heard about GetStream.io over the years but haven’t looked into it. If one were to put a camera in an app using AVFoundation & put custom controls on top, what unforeseen complexities would there be that would make you wish you’d used Stream to begin with? Genuine question. Any insight?

I haven’t had a chance to test it out much yet, but seeing how much I already liked it before — i’m excited to try it out now!

@chriswu.com I was searching for Dan earlier tonight because I realized he wasn’t anywhere to be found. Then I re-downloaded Bluesky because he told me that’s where he’s been. Anyway, it’s not too bad here so far!
