Tête de Moine cheese is served in fan-shaped, flower-like ribbons. Researchers have found that the frilly forms arise from spatial variations in the properties of the cheese wheel from which the flowers are removed. The insight could help improve the processing of soft materials.

Mathématiques à l’école : comment l’écart de niveau entre filles et garçons se creuse dès le CP A la rentrée, les maths sont renforcées au lycée. La discipline est frappée par une pénurie d’enseignants, alors même que les résultats des élèves se situent en deçà de la moyenne européenne.

Je pense qu'il faut donner aux enseignants les moyens d'agir en primaire, là où ces biais commencent, comme le montrait cette étude de Jean-Paul Fischer et Xavier Thierry.

Lors d'un test consistant à faire passer une forme en "T" au travers de 2 petites ouvertures, un humain fait bien mieux qu'une fourmi.

Mais un groupe de fourmi, lui, peut parfois être plus efficace qu'un groupe d'humains.
