DC needs a bottle bill NOW!

The basics: customers pay a 10-cent refundable deposit when purchasing a plastic or glass bottle or aluminum can. Then, they can return their emptied beverage container to a drop-off location and get their 10-cents back.

After Dominion Energy unexpectedly clear cut 350 trees along the 4-mile stretch of the W&OD between Vienna and Dunn Loring without a clear restoration plan, community members and grassroots organizations got to work and rallied to protect and restore the W&OD.

Dominion will replant this area and has agreed to coordinate future maintenance projects involving deforestation.
