If you are a teacher, librarian, (or other author!) attending it's at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre at the Idea Hub (The Idea Hub is in the back corner of the Exhibit Hall - near the washrooms - yes, very me to know that). #kidlit

I think both work!

I found 'teacher-ish' wording of "Multimodal texts": communication materials that integrate two or more, modes such as written language, images, diagrams, or spatial layout to create meaning. -- which sounds very similar to your visual cue suggestion. And yes - thinking it will add to accessibility

Um #kidlit peeps...would you call putting newspaper articles in type font and with a thin border (in a fiction MS) a visual tool or a writing tool?

Trying to make it sound fancy and educational in a letter to editor...but in my head it's coming out as "it'll look cooler for the reader"
