Last week it was Book Week Scotland and we were very busy in the library. We had a Book Fair which was very popular and author Alan Bissett visited to speak to S3 pupils about his book 'Lads'. #weareFHS @falkirkhighschool.bsky.social @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social

We have two new bronze award reading rock stars this week who have just finished reading ten books. They are Maizie and Millie from S1. Well done guys! #weareFHS @falkirkhighschool.bsky.social @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social

S1 have explored WHO and DOING. Today we focused on WHERE & DESCRIBE. We selected a tunnel & a forest. Used our five senses to DESCRIBE. Our iPads were a great way to record our thoughts and support reading. @connectedfalk.bsky.social @gmthhs-library.bsky.social @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social

This week three of our S4 girls visited Bainsford Nursery class to read books to some of the young pupils there. This is valuable work experience for these pupils who hope to pursue a career in child care. #weareFHS @falkirkhighschool.bsky.social @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social

Scholastic are offering live read and draw along events with children's authors. Three of these would be suitable for children in the ELC if anyone is wanting to try them 😊. Please see links below.

A box of books arrived from @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social and it contained a huge variety of fiction and non fiction, with something that appealed to everyone! We have selected a book which we can bring home for reading for pleasure.

This morning we introduced our Lending Library. We have kindly been sent a variety of books from @lrsfalkirk.bsky.social ranging from picture books to novels. Every Friday we will now exchange our book for a new one and will have the opportunity to recommend to our friends. 📚#LaurReads
