The Wolf Moon. My monthly moonrise mission was a simple one from the car this month. It's been cold! That allowed me to run 2 systems for 2 different shots (Pentax Crop SLR and FujiFilm MF mirrorless). Which do you prefer? Can you tell which is which?

Shadows cast by sunlight through aspen trees on to virgin snow forming a mesmerizing pattern.

Going over my images from this year I keep coming back to this one so I'm going to call it my best landscape photo of 2024.
Not easy to get to but worth the couple hours of skiing!

Blue Mesa has some beaches that can be pretty photogenic. Winding shorelines and driftwood when the light is right can make for some great subjects, especially in mono.

Nice. I know this perspective well. I'm also within three hours from GSDNP and try to get down there every so often myself. I'd like to try a little backpack trip sometime. Maybe this spring...

It's been pretty cold around here lately which has given us some interesting ice along the Gunnison River. I feel like I can revisit these places many times when conditions are favorable because it is always changing.

Sunrise light illuminates steam rising from a colorado river

When it gets cold enough before the river is all frozen over it produces steam. Worth venturing out into the cold (-22F/-30C) morning to grab a few pics last weekend.
