Part 1: From "Somewhere" to Here: In order to understand Fragaria World, we need to understand its inhabitants. I'd clearly say there are two main entity types, the fairies and their lords: Regarding the Lords (This is specifically taken from the Kingdom keyword definition on the official website): ハローキティたちも、あるとき“どこからか”この地に降りたちました。そして、いちごの王さまと一緒に、この世界「フラガリアワールド」を開拓したのです。今ではそれぞれがお城を築き、王国のみんなから愛されています。 Hello Kitty and the others arrived at this world from Somewhere at a certain point. Then, together with the Strawberry King, developed this world- Fragaria World. In the present, each of the Lords have built a castle, and are loved by everyone in their kingdom. Due note, the use of 降りる (to descend or dismount), I'd like to believe that there's an the implication being that the Lords *physically* arrived to the world of Fragaria (The importance of that will come later). The usage of 開拓 (in the context of developing "unclaimed" land/wilderness into something to be used) also catches my eye for a billion different reasons (What was here before! How old does it make everyone's respective kingdoms! How the fuck did we get 18 different countries up and running from the ground up when like a third of the Lords are pretty much primary school kids /hj) As interesting as this all is, there is unfortunately not much to say for now how it connects to the supposed "main story" of FragMem at the moment. Primarily because we know so little about the Lords themselves, (and also because they rarely show up. Sanrio please im dying), but it is interesting to confirm that the Lords have a otherworldly nature to them.

The Fairies 妖精 (yousei) often refers to a wide collection of non-human things, but given FragMem's fantasy worldview, I'm tentatively deciding to refer to it in English as fairies until further notice. (To my knowledge, this also hasn't been name dropped in the voice drama afaik) The official keyword page refers to them as follows: この「フラガリアワールド」に住む人々のこと。“どこかで”メモリーが貯まるとこの地に現れるようです。私たちと同じ姿のこともあるし、そうでないこともあります。 Refers to the people that live in the Fragaria World. When Memory accumulates from "Somewhere", they will appear in this place. Sometimes they resemble us, sometimes they don't. The first and third statement certainly aren't surprising. Given the rather vague measures of time (age, period of knighthood, and even regarding the Strawberry King's disappearance) and usage of magic, the residents of this world being not exactly human is not surprising. It's the second entry that appeals to me the most. You'll notice that I used the word "appear" for the word "arawareru", and while that's not exactly false, the kanji 現 not implies something hidden being revealed, but also something being materialized/manifested. (Essentially, like something popping into existence) So, in contrast to the Lords, who appear in Fragaria physically from Somewhere, fairies are born due to a secondary entity's influence. It's pretty dubious to consider Person A and and any particular fairy born from their Memory to be a straight-transfer-of consciousness isekai-style given the phrasing, so let's think of it like this:

This is a diagram. The left side represent the other world as described as "Somewhere", where presumably Person A and Lord Candidate A reside. When certain conditions are met (Accumulation of Person A's Memory, and the physical travel of Lord Candidate A), something happens in Fragaria World. the arrival of a Lord (intact physically, mentally and spiritually(?) from Somewhere) and the creation of a Fairy (for now, thought of to be a separate conscious entity from Person A's memory Accumulation)

(We don't necessarily have to consider the Somewheres one and the same, or that the ratio of entity:fairy is anything other 1 person's Memory = 1 fairy but I think it's simpler if we do for now.) Memory is certainly interesting, given the title of the franchise, but so far they haven't necessarily delved into this concept (This term as well afaik has not been used in the voice dramas either.). Memory....it's in English, but given the series' theming, I wonder if omoi would be a good equivalent for alluding to it. It encapsulates not just memories but feelings dependent on the spelling too, which feels apt. (And unlike memory, you really can't watch much of anything regarding this franchise without running headfirst into the word, much like "minna nakayoku") Memory......memory and feelings traveling from Somewhere to Here.....thoughts being sent to somewhere......Sent......wait a second? Isn't there a character that pretty much revolves around this concept? One's whose inclusion in the narrative is currently being obfuscated....?
