BTW Ratonteur's favorite thing about "chuffed" is that dictionary.com defines it as both:
delighted; pleased; satisfied.
and
annoyed; disgruntled; displeased.
When you say chuffed you can enigmatically be disgruntled or gruntled.

Probably could have made this clearer, you do not have to use the phrase "Dear John". You can name him/her/they/the concept of a quadrangle whatever you want. Just give us a strange reason why they are breaking up/moving on.
