True.
We can look back to Al Gore getting screwed by SCOTUS. How different would our country and world be had Gore become president and not GWB?
No point in looking back tho. We need to look forward to better election results. If possible.
I have one and it is up to date! I renew early, lol. I've always had one, but used to be just to travel. Same with my husband.
We don't travel much anymore. For a variety of reasons! I'm glad I'm not overseas right now.
But we keep our passports current. Now needed even to go to nearby Canada!
What Iβm trying to convey here is that in spite of all the arguments that will perpetuate a rigged election scenario I feel it is best for the mental and emotional well being of voters not to harp on that.
We havenβt proved rigging. Ever.
We are better off conveying the messageβYOUR VOTE COUNTS.
Right β¦. Hacking can occur.
But there has to be major cooperation among many people to do that. Whole districts β otherwise youβve got whistle blowers.
I donβt know what common sense dictates in the last election. Itβs possible to me he won legitimately and I think I have common sense.
Itβs unconstitutional to nationalize elections and they wonβt that one in court. They canβt (famous last words). Even SCOTUS (minus 2) wonβt go along with that.
However, he can call off the elections all together if we are in a βwar β.
I donβt think they have proof from what they took out of GA.
And itβs all I can hang my hope on.
I always vote β by mail.
I am a female who took my husbandβs last name. But kept my birth surname as my middle name.
I live in a red state. No doubt my voter records were handed over to him.
Am I concerned?
Of course.
I know and I understand.
We have extremely serious situation going in with elections.
Interference is the correct word, rather than rigging although the results might be the same.
I know there are good minds at work to try to counter what may happen to stop or interfere with free and fair voting

We have the poster boy of the Dunning-Kruger (no) think tank sitting in the WH.
The more I wade into this, the more doom I feel coming.
possible. Remember too βTrump only won by just over 1% of the popular vote. Our electoral college system is the REAL problem now.
If 2024 had been rigged β why is Trump desperate to nationalize elections? Why are Repubs so worried about 2026?
It wasnβt rigged. Dems failed to come out and vote.
all be rigged. They are not tied into one central computer. They are not on the βinternetβ. None are.
Musk influenced the election via propaganda on Twitter. Just like FB did in 2016.
There can be individual rigging (Diebold machines in Bush/Kerry election) but widespread rigging is not β¦
Youβre right about the chatter by Trump and Musk. They are definitely trying to make people lose faith in the integrity of elections and therefore stop voting. Why bother? Itβs all rigged?
Please rememberβTrump is a pathological liar. Nothing he says is true.
Our STATE RUN elections cannot β¦
Yes⦠same here.
I saw an analysis of his behavior on YouTube recently and became aware of this. Itβs obvious when you know the signs.
Didnβt know about the brother.
And just how did the NeoLibs (π) go about doing that?
When it all came down to a recount of ballots in FLORIDAβone conservative state, and the recounting of overseas ballots, hanging chads! and finally the decision by SCOTUS.
How in hell do you inject NeoLibs into that?
Please explain your logic
Exactly.
And we are still wondering WHY? Why did they LIE and take us to war?
The Bush/Cheney people were never held accountable. It was at the least an illegal war on Iraq. An inexcusable failure to protect the United States.
If we had prosecuted Bush/Cheney we might never have gotten Trump.
Bingoβ¦
And look at repercussions of that. Ongoing.
And now with this crackpot war monger felon in charge, weβre embroiled in the Mideast again and all hell is breaking loose.
I am glad I am as old as I am and lived during the βAge of Aquariusβ days. A brief respite in an otherwise brutal world.
I do not believe that 9/11 would have happened under Gore.
We canβt prove a negative.
There is of course the possibility that it would have but I greatly doubt it.
π― agree.
Robert might have been a transformative president.
LBJ was strange, unpredictable but youβre right about his achievements.
The South never unified in spirit with the north. Their resentment has now infected a lot of northerners. People in general.
Bingo.
Right now we canβt afford a third party interloper. It weakens the democrats more than the republicans. The Republican Party is unified, the democrats are not. Thatβs a huge weakness and itβs why we lose by tiny margins.
For the Trump-supporting MAGA butt kissing Repugnantans in Congress β itβs their way or no way.
The idea of a divided government, two parties, is to fight it outβfind consensus and then agree on a position that embraces some of this, some of that. Compromise.
Thatβs the way government should work.
Well, thatβs a debatable position.
They were a fraction of the Republican caucus and yes β they were definitely bullied by the majority and many did join in with Dems on certain bills.
Look at staunch MAGA Majorie Taylor Green and how she was bullied because of her position in Epstein files!
I knowβ¦
They are the anti-Trumpers, a tiny minority of ousted Republicans and republican voters donβt like them.
Republican voters by a large majority are still in love with Trump. Look at the polls.
I worry more about them than I do the handful of Conservatives who are now out of office.
Conservative Republicans catered and appealed to the wealthy. For some time regulations kept conservative policies under control; the economic aspects of SOME conservative policies helped small businesses and average people (lower taxes, free trade) too.
Regulations were key. We lost those regs.
Yes.
Jimmy Carter was deceitfully played by Reagan β and the entire voting populace was played by actor Reagan.
You know β we can go back to assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy. Especially Robert. How different things would have been if they had remained central in our government.
I think she has changed parties or maybe she is simply party-less right now. Wyoming Rs ousted her.
I donβt think sheβs an evil person. She is ideological. Conservatives core. But I think sheβs the type to analyze and not get stuck in one mold.
I could be wrong. I donβt know her personally.

But you mean Bush with regard to Cheney, because he wasnβt in the Reagan administration.
Reagan was clever enough to destroy Carter. Win the election via one of the most deceitful actions ever.
When that whole Iran-Contra thing was revealed, I realized what a snake Reagan was.
Too late.
