They are 'concentration' camps. People are dying within them. Many of the victims captured by ICE terrorists have no 'records' in this country because they entered illegally, therefore, there is NO WAY to track what happens to them.

They "disappear" forever. Many are murdered, no doubt.

It was subtle satire for sure. I fell for it (often the intention of satire!). I didn’t realize it was satire until I was told and thereafter I could identify it as such. Laughed.

Such things are common on SM. I am often misunderstood in my posts because of my ambiguity. It’s human—it happens.

So… my Google search was, “Halfway Cafe satire?” And it came up on the first hit.

There are lots of “Halfway” stuff, cafes, houses, towns, magazines, etc.

Googling to obtain pertinent results requires narrowing the search to specifics. Simply googling halfway cafe gave you generalized info.

I prefer non-lethal distractions from the tRUMPSTEIN Files like renaming the Gulf of Mexico, making Canada the 51st state & buying Greenland. Sure it was hugely offensive to longtime friends & allies, but at least no one died.

I enjoy her writing. As do many, obviously, given her longevity. She's been writing for the NYTimes since 1983; an opinion column since 1995. We should all be so shallow.

She's known for her skepticism, humorous irreverence and nonpartisanship.

My grandmother was the only female who served (who I know of in our family) — in WW1, nurse.

For those who never served, the least they can do is show respect and appreciation. And support.
