If the rumours are true and the kids and social media consultation opens today, here are two things I think should be banned from
social media:

1) AI bots
2) recommendations algorithms that optimise for time on site

Firm regulation of both of these things is possible and auditable

I urge you to stop what you're doing and watch Alysa Liu's free skate from yesterday. I have never seen anything like this. I understand why sports writers are born now. I have never seen anyone as free from the burdens of this world as this pierced Oakland girl spinning to Donna Summers.

This is the key question. Prince Andrew wasn't a "lone wolf" or a "lost sheep", he was enabled both socially and financially for years by the structure and family around him. The only question is the extent to which his cruelty was facilitated.

There always are, because residents know they can't get away with simply "don't want it" and there's always an issue with the plan that can be pointed to. Ultimately I have never encountered a situation where the Greens have said "even though the locals oppose this development, we think it's fine."

Broadly the Greens oppose these things for the same reason every other party does: because the voters they're looking to attract already live in these, places and they oppose them. There's always a "nuance" you can point to, but it's almost always just a convenient excuse.

So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.

I don't think it is pointless, though. The region's name will be more visible in marketing materials, which you might expect to encourage a bit more cyclo-tourism, even as the rest of us continue calling it the same thing we always have.

Yeah, I'm fine with it. It won't change what people call the race, and it gives the region a little bit more value for money.
