Fail proof one for my stubborn hiccups: inhale as much as you can, hold, swallow 2-3 times, then inhale even deeper, then swallow 2-3 times again... keep doing this until you have to exhale.

It's a weird one, but it works for me when the usual tricks don't work.

I often find that a "Strong 7" on The Black List can be more valuable than a flat out 8.

It's that "you're almost there" feedback that REALLY forces me to think critically about how to take the screenplay from good to great, finding that final twist, deeper stakes, plants/payoffs.
