On the Kฬฑโalii-Aksim Lisims (Nass River), the Nisgฬฑaโa are using fishwheels to monitor salmon migration, mortality, and population trends. These river-based wheels gently catch salmon so technicians can identify and record each fish before safely returning it to the water.
